Loving life at The Orchards7 July 2021
What’s life like at The Orchards? We asked two of our residents what they love about living here.
Even before Ken and Denise Robertson moved into their beautiful new retirement apartment at The Orchards, they knew that our community was a welcoming one. Little did they realise they would have so many choices of things to do every day and so many new friends to do them with! We asked the Robertsons about their new life!
What does a typical day look like for you living at The Orchards?
There’s always multiple activities to choose from – exercise classes, water aerobics, billiards, darts, movies, line dancing, happy hours, sausage sizzles and more. It’s so hard to choose what makes living at The Orchards so interesting. Every day is new and different. We’re spoiled for choice with things to join in and be a part of.
What is your favourite part about living at The Orchards?
The fact that it’s a small community and its affordability, plus the floor plan of the apartments with a kitchen is to die for. The location and the ease of shopping so close by with public transport on the doorstep. The friendliness and cooperation of management to assist us where they can and the aged care facility as part of the complex which ensures that the last stage of our life is already catered for. It gives us peace of mind to know that we’ll be looked after as we get older.
Do you have a favourite activity at The Orchards?
We love using the swimming pool, and the happy hours are a lot of fun!
How has your life changed since you transitioned into retirement living at The Orchards?
Our cost of living has diminished enormously. We are much more relaxed and have a much busier social life. Knowing we can go on holidays, lock the door and leave without any worries is a good feeling.
